In this edition, we will discover hotels that are part of cinematic history, inventive cocktails abound in Miami, San Antonio’s King William Historic District and Charleston’s plantation gardens.
From lobbies, bars and ballrooms to swimming pools and suites, hotels have always attracted Hollywood. They are often where the curtain goes up on fantastic tales. For instance, the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas has been featured in films such as “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”, “Vegas Vacation”, “The Hangover” and especially “Ocean’s Eleven”. North Carolina’s Pinehurst calls itself the large golf resort in America. Most of the major championships have been played there, including the U.S. Open, PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup. A stroll through the scenic gardens of Charleston’s antebellum plantations reveals serene beauty. Azaleas, roses, fruit trees, bird species and other natural delights inspire and educate visitors.
